In the middle of the path where the North and the Black Sea meet, at the 1,794 km mark of the Danube river and the Mosoni-Danube Estuary between Győr and Gönyű, National Public Port was constructed, serving as a freight logistics centre. The building serves as a control centre of the port.

Raging storms constantly shape the dunes on the northwest coast of Denmark. In 1968 a giant sand dune devoured Rubjerg Knude Ligthouse leaving the tower as the only remainder.

The West Terminal 2 ferry terminal in Helsinki was built to meet the needs of the growing ferry traffic on the Helsinki-Tallinn route. The primary and ultimately sole purpose of a ferry terminal is to ensure the smooth passage of passengers and vehicles on and off ships. On the Alfama slope, Lisbon is an amphitheatre looking out into the Tagus estuary. At the foot of the hill, on the flats of the early 20th century landfill of the port, the building of the new Cruise Terminal echoes, and returns, the gaze: a small amphitheatre, apparently with its back to the river, looks back at the city.

Gironella is a municipality divided by the river Llobregat. Its historical centre is at the top of a hill, 20 metres above the river, and the modern part is situated on the opposite side. The proposal is to insert a lift to facilitate access to the historical centre and to encourage interconnection between the two sides avoiding social exclusion.

The Castle District of Sopron is a 40-60 meter wide boulevard, which was formed on the outer skirt of the ditch running along the city walls that encircled the historical core of the town, on the so called glacis slope. Once long ago – after the development of the surrounding facades – market function was present in this area of historical significance.
