About 2026
The organisation of the EUmies Awards Architecture and Emerging 2026 began in May 2025 with the first contacts with the experts and the architecture associations. The jury, which was announced in October, meets online and in Barcelona to discuss on all the nominated works and laters visit a group of them in order to choose the winners. The Awards Ceremony will take place in May 2026 in the context of the “World Capital of Architecture, Barcelona 2026”.
These two categories acknowledge the achievements of European architects and clients in the development of new concepts and technologies and provide citizens as well as public institutions with the opportunity to reach a better understanding of the importance of architecture in the construction of sustainable and inclusive cities and communities where the essential relationship between the quality of life and the quality of the environment is a key priority.
The Architecture winner receives 60.000€ and a sculpture by Xavier Corberó, inspired by the Barcelona Pavilion. The clients and the four finalists receive a sculpture designed by Tomoko Sakamoto and David Lorente.
The Emerging winner is granted to a built work of architecture in the context of a broader critical approach to architecture by a young architecture practice and which acknowledges the same achievements as the architecture category. The Winner receives 30.000€ and a sculpture by Xavier Corberó, inspired by the Barcelona Pavilion. The client receives a sculpture designed by Tomoko Sakamoto and David Lorente.
