The project is located on a big platform in the periphery of Cavallino. The area is placed in a strategic position between an important territorial artery and a rural area. The relation with the context is designed with a constrasting attitude according with the place’ nature. However relations with the roadways are favorable: the area links to one of the most used bike path of the lagoon of Venice. The project contains different functions: a green public space, a cultural space for events, a service space for bus and a parking. The materials used are very cheap because of the recycle of many elements of the area (for example we used earth excavation to create the terraced steps underpinning). In the park there are existing plants, the platform’ material is concrete and we used also “calcestro”, a draining material, in order to recover the traditional materials of the italian garden.
The concept is based on small actions focused on the recovery of the existing place in order to enhance the arena space. The arena is the result of the characteristics of the site and it takes advantage of the existing heights differences to generate its steps. Walking through the pathway, suddenly appears the green that comes out from the paved platform.
The main used materials are: Vegetable materials like native trees, meadow Concrete for the platform; "Calcestro" for the steps; In general the project uses recycled materials (wood, land, inerts) and the budget for excavation/reuse of the earth is almost zero.
