Revitalization of the interwar modernist housing estate Nowe Miasto in Che?m. Continuation of unrealized parts of estate, divided into different scales. The concept of urban development of the most important settlements is based on a fully modular residential buildings inspired by the historical architecture.
The revitalization project based as continuation of the Nowe Miasto in Che?m is response needs for space located in the center of the historic urban development. Interwar modernist concept of development was the second largest urban layout made in Poland before World War II. The authors very clearly emphasized the importance of the area – the Chalk Hill, place located in city center. The idea of three main axis intersected at the top of the hill increases the importance of area. Hill was designed to create a gateway connecting the history with contemporary. Authors proposed pentagonal building as dominant at the top on the highest peak, which had to corespond with Basilica. The current appearance of Chalk Hill is in opposition to the interwar project - a representative area of city. Today, most of hill is disordered, the unused space that creates an undefined place on the citymap. After World War II quarter has been completed with buildings standing in opposition to the interwar concept, totally disturbing ideas. The need for change is clear. Revitalization project responds to these and many other space needs. In its basic premise is to restore the representative character of the place, making it part of urban life. An important aspect of the project is to find ways to restore the historic space management to needs of today's inhabitants of Che?m. The Graduation project is an attempt to define the undefined.
