The design evolved in relation to local circumstances, in a dense forest. Building under the existing foliage, we experienced a significant condition that the Japanese describe as “swimming in the forest”. Our goal was to utilize this unique local condition to activate the senses experienced while being in motion.

“Nemuno 3” – office building in Kaunas Old Town was designed in 2016 and accomplished in 2018. The building points composition of the Old Town that emphasizes its eastern boundary. The building together with the fire station forms two strong architectural ‘columns’ as a visual ‘gate’ into the Nemunas street.

Renovation and environmental improvement of the facade and the recovery and improvement of the office floors of the Headquarters of the Architects Association of Catalonia (COAC) in Barcelona, recovering the spirit of the original 1960’s modern facade of the building, one of the rare examples of International Style in Catalonia.

The Jacoby studios convert an existing building complex into a new headquarters for a family-run company. Originally a seventeenth century Capuchin monastery, the structure had been used as a hospital for over 150 years. The conversion reveals the historic building fabric once again and completes the structure with new extension wings.

ANIS is an eight-storey office building of 6.962 m² with terraces. The main originality of the building is the 2,400 m² of outdoor space, almost a third of the interior, which is unique for office buildings.

Stattwerk office Belgrade is located on the third floor of the abandoned former building of Energoprojekt, by Milica Šterić, at Zeleni venac. It is a concrete modernist building from 1960, at the busiest intersection in the city. Stattwerk office attracts passers-by’s attention, intrigates and, at the same time, it revives the abandoned building.

KA13 is a groundbreaking project with reuse as the overarching goal. A modest office building from the 1950’s has been preserved instead of demolished, and redeveloped with a new 8 storey extension using mostly reused building materials. The project is a first in Norway’s modern history to extensively employ the reuse of building materials.
