Interactive Canteen Design

There is a big crisis under the Old industrial base, the retired workers who were influenced by the collective spirit are now in a state of alienation in everyday life.Based the research of Everyday Service System Reconstruction, a canteen has been designed to connect the community.

General: The design starts with the tiny daily life and eventually realize the renaissance of an old industrial city.\nPhenomenon: With the city observation , people dance and sing In the Labor Park ,having a lot of fun .However their community space is now in a dilapidated situation.\nCrisis: A big crisis was indicated under this kind of contradictions , Retired workers who were influenced by he collective spirit of the times are in a state of alienation in everyday life.\nSample: Trying to solve this problem ,we Select Fugong Fifth Street as a sample because of its mixture of residential patterns in different ages ,and take the construction of the daily service system as an opportunity to renovate its community space.\nConcept: The socialist canteen was a part of the old dream of the city in 1960's of Tiexi. So FOOD can be developed as one of the community system to recall the history and renovate the environment.Food plays a very important role in the interactive canteen with different hierarchy of meanings?XL-community canteen\L-system canteen\M&S-memory canteen\n1 XL:Community canteen The canteen takes food as the core and diversifies the whole process activities. So it can be generated to form interactions with surrounding communities and enhance the community's system-wide quality in both virtual and physical perspective. 2 L:System canteen There is a whole process of food system where Food can be used to Improve community infrastructure system. 3 M&S:Memory canteen Under the operation of system canteen, the old abandoned building is renoveted into the memory canteen, connecting the past and modern, virtual and real, memory and reality.\nConclusion:The canteen takes food as the core and diversifies the whole process activities. So it can generate to form interactions with surrounding communities and enhance the community's system-wide quality.\nInfluence: By combining this with virtual technology, we can improve the quality of the whole community.
