The Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin is an icon of twentieth-century architecture. Sports and Cultural building dedicated to schoolchildren, sports clubs and local associations, the Oscar Niemeyer Centre is composed of a 300 m2 multi-activities hall, several changing rooms and a 150 m2 independent polyvalent space. Its location on Val Druel District’s border creates a link with the city centre, a welcoming in-between place.

the basic idea of the project is to simplify the existing structure by fitting in a floating platform for theoretical classes and thus bringing in – despite densification – space and generositiy. this conception enables the further development of the existing structure into „one“ new structure and it creates a terrace-like open space on the 1st floor.
