The Maison du Livre, Luxembourg Learning Center (LLC) is the new library of the University developed as core building of the campus in Esch-Belval. As conversion it proves an understanding of the heritage of the former industrial site. As design it sets new standards in building technology.

Olsztyn is the capital of the “Land of a Thousand Lakes” region. After years of neglecting that heritage, Sports and Leisure Centre has reopend the city to the Lake Ukiel, generating a symbiosis between the new and the natural scenery, creating city’s new identity. Since the opening, most of the city’s leisure and sport life has moved to the lakeshore.

The storerooms, where the archive boxes are housed, are stacked in the exact location where goods were previously stacked. Each concrete box slides into cantilever above the reading room making the presence of the documents palpable. On the other side, the stepped form of the storage boxes supports the internal circulation of staff.
