The project is situated in ‘La Trinité’, close to Nice. This public amenity creates a missing pathway in the town. The floor plates and ‘servant’ blocks accommodate the programme and form a base to the hillside. It is a mineral building that speaks of childhood through space and light.

Architect Roger Bundschuh and Artist Cosima von Bonin were commissioned to design a piece of outdoor sculpture for a small site in Berlin-Mitte. Architect Hans Poelzig had won one of the first major urban renewal schems on Rosa-Luxemburg Platz in the 1920’s, much of the original plan and buildings is still visible.

The construction of the Saint Pope John Paul II Church is a unique story, as almost two decades passed from when the intention to build the church was expressed and the laying of the foundation stone to the consecration of the church. The entire process was organized by the local community while the construction was largely funded by donations.
