The design combines the horizontal structure of the landmarked Grossmarkthalle – a former wholesale market from the 1920s – with a twisted double tower, which rises to 185 meters. A floating entrance building unites these two elements and marks the representative access to the ECB with its asymmetrical contours, slanted facades and generous windows.

Following an architectural competition this proposal was awarded the first prize. After an intensive architectural study and thorough construction supervision it opened to the public in 2016.

The multifunctional community centre acts as a campanile for the town hall of the municipality of Bocholt. Its dark brown over-scaled volume peeks out over the surrounding buildings, this way marking the townscape. The white volumes distort the main setup, as unplanned extensions in a typical Flemish landscape.

It draws inspiration from the context by making references to the geometry and tissue of the nearby buildings but due to its abstract, free composition creates a modern architectural sign in historical surroundings.

Situated in the south-western corner of the VandA South Kensington site, Gallery 40 is one of the museum’s largest and most architecturally distinctive interior spaces. The simplified neo-classical gallery, 1600 sqm in area, is based on an octagonal plan with four deep circular alcoves below a flattened domed glass roof.

Castle Grad is one of the biggest castles in Slovenia. It lies in the north eastern part of the country and is very well connected with both neighbouring countries Austria and Hungary. It is a huge structure. Legend says it has 365 rooms, equal to 365 days of the year in three storeys developed around a central two level courtyard.

The project is a primary school in which a nineteenth century school building and yard are reconfigured to work in tandem with a new building incorporating classrooms, a multi-purpose hall, staff, parent and learning support facilities.
