The foundation Realdania assigned Praksis the job to reconstruct Slotfeltlade to a small cultural centre. The owner is HRH Prince Joakim. Slotfeltlade is placed on the outskirts of Møgeltønder By, near Sønderhaven by the estate and close to an area of marshland. The barn was built in the 1870's. The old barn, with its unique roof construction is taking on a complete renovation. Externally the barn gets a thatched roof again. Internally, Praksis designs a flexible exhibition space, which tells viewers the story of the Golden Horns, Møgeltønder, Schackenborg og Slotfeltlade by using modern technology.
Furthermore, the space will offer an environment for changing exhibitions and music events. Praksis has developed a terrazzo made by a ballast of large fieldstones from the local area. The terrazzo is cast in one piece and will cover the entire floor of 300m2. Three movable boxes made of black fibreglass furnish the floor space including toilets, cinema and a digital projector showing the Golden Horns developed by Vizoo. Three short fillms about Slotfeltlade, the history of Møgeltønder and Schackenborg was produced for the cinema. During the day the building will be open to the public as the lighting, films and projector are activated by visitors via motion sensors.
