Transformation of the neglected neologic synagogue, designed by Peter Behrens, into a cultural centre wants to achieve a dialectic relationship between the exceptional heritage and its new contents. The generous central space of the building is simply divided horizontally into two chromatically different parts becoming a “half-white” gallery.

Located within a working Somerset farmyard, the new building provides an architecture archive for a private collector. The building shell is constructed of a single layer of solid cross-laminated timber, without insulation, external cladding or internal lining, creating a stable internal environment for the archive drawings.

The events pavilion or ombrière is a simple, discreet canopy of highly reflective stainless steel, 46 by 22 metres in size, open on all sides and supported by pillars. Its polished, mirrored surface reflects the surrounding port and tapers towards the edges, minimising its profile and reducing the structure’s visual impact.

Keramis is an art-center dedicated to contemporary ceramics. It houses museological, pedagogical and production activities, as well as artist residencies. It will be part of the rehabilitation of the former Royal Boch faience factory in La Louvière and organizes itself around the classified buildings, housing the three bottle kilns.

The reconstruction after a faulty renovation, causing the loss of a mid 20th century house, was already started and the ground level partially finished, when the first meeting with the client took place. The main goals were to redesign the building, keeping the newly built parts, and to bring a contemporary tribute to the lost house.
