This project proposes a critical thinking about the increasing degradation and divorce that has long settled between the city and Tagus river. The ultimate intention was to transform a forgotten area by the river in a big informal square - a public space and multivalent equipment that offers us a chance to relate body-to-body with the river.
“Water over water” takes shape through the practical development of a contemporary proposal which claims its place as a mark in the riverside facade, introducing as well, a relational architecture. From the obvious need of connection between the city and its river, what first made is project possible was the naive intention of solving the problem through the river itself, once the biggest “weapon” of Lisbon’s growth.
