The project contains a main warehouse with 20 dock stations in total and several bus loading positions which had to be combined with a personnel access and spaces to host about 24p. storage workers and 75p. administrative personnel. The program also included client access and truck drivers service areas. All client's requirements were completed in a single building with the necessary room for storage and personnel functions. The building's vision was meant to assure all the necessary volumes with a specific colouring applied to match the company design and fit the surrounding buildings.
It was a complicated program of different loading requirements and facilities to fit in the terrain. The need of different external canopies, docking stations and ramps created an image which was meant to mark the company in the European logistics industry. The design followed a concept of creating a logistics space within the frame of a retail park with the necessary loading facilities and free transport access set in abundance of greenery and recreation spaces. The need of different external canopies, docking stations and ramps created an image which was meant to mark the company in the European logistics industry. The project followed a rainwater solution strategy to meet the local water retaining difficulties. Also the aim of the client was to assure the best conditions to the working personnel with a creative interior solutions and design in a set of periphery logistics and retail environment.
The structure of the building consists of precast concrete elements - a system which meant to assure storage free space and short construction period which is the main goal concerning the industrial buildings. It also meant to avoid the use of steel structure with the required fire protection layers. The external system cladding and roof insolation core material is mineral wool and the finishing layers are in light colours to avoid sun heat absorption. The building is equipped with roof solar panels to produce its own energy, naturally ventilated main hall, rainwater retaining reservoir, VRV systems for offices air conditioning and also a high factor glazing plus shading system. The design included paved truck alleys in order to avoid the use of asphalt as an adverse material.
