With the development of 3d printing there is a new paradigm in architecture. It's possible to think about the creative potential of new constructive possibilities, which are still mostly unkown. This project explores this by developing a system to design modular, flexible and custom habitation.
For the development of this work a system to design modular, flexible and custom single family housing it’s explored. It is intended to operate in new construction and preexistences, thanks to the speculation about the tectonic potential allowed by the development of 3D printing technology. Thanks to this it is possible to adapt the limits of the modules that make up the house to the geometry of the lot, incorporate three-dimensional textures in its elements, the development of an efficient wall system inspired by the "gaioleiro pombalino" construction system, and the use of sustainable and recycled materials for its construction. With the definition of the premises, "the houses" were developed, of 4 different typologies, which fill the interior of this neighborhood and define its limits, as well as "the additions", through the rehabilitation and adaptation of 3 degraded dwellings of different scales, to a contemporary way of living, consolidating the historical limits of the neighbourhood.
