The subject of the master's thesis is the spatial development project of the retention reservoir in Sza?e near Kalisz. The work presents the general arrangement of key and heavily degraded areas. The project proposes solutions to activate and regenerate reservoir. The detailed concept covers 130 thousand m2 of land located on the south shore of the lake.
The analyzes made it possible to set out six key areas around the reservoir, which proper management will allow the activation of lake. All areas have been connected by walking and cycling paths that significantly improved the accuracy of the shoreline of the lake. The urban structure was based on a number of compositional axes perpendicular to the shoreline. New sidewalks have been marked out at the existing paths. This ensured a natural combination of the new system with the existing structure of the village of Sza?e. Functional spaces and accents have been introduced along and at the end of each axis. The main transverse axis - boulevard - connects all elements of the foundation along the shoreline. The new functional layout has been inscribed in existing landscape without cutting down trees. The project involves the modernization of the rowing club center and enabling further development and expansion so that it can fully use its potential. A new building of a bosun's office and hangar as well as an yacht harbour, organizing the work of the yacht club. The project of bosun's office is inspired by the local wooden architecture. The object was created in wooden construction in accordance with the philosophy of cradle to cradle. Another building is an observation tower which is also a landmark. The tower allows observation of the landscape to physically disabled people, by using mirrors and the principle of periscope. Ecological solutions, like a watersquare or floating islands have been proposed to improve the quality of the water in the reservoir and the life of the animals. The amphitheater and new beach was designed by using natural terrain. New judges towers have been proposed as a continuation of their previous form. The project also involves the creation of a commercial and service village in which local producers will be able to sell their products. In addition, several assistant functions were created, such as water equipment rental and a footbridge enabling free communication. The whole project creates an attractive sports and recreation space available all year round for all social groups.
