The Breeders Project is set in a near future where surrogacy become a reallity in Spain where at the moment is an ilegal practice. The Breeders complex will include not only private spaces but also communal areas where the mothers will develop new skills and stablish new relationships what will create the perfect atmosphere for this gestational process
XXI century citizen have changed and so laws have to. The Breeders Project raises new questions, Is society ready for this new approaches? Are we prepared for this new maternity methods? \nThe Breeders Project is set in a near future where surrogacy become a reallity in Spain, where at this moment is not legalized. Architecture and design enable this to come true with the development of a surrogacy residential complex with unique private spaces where the future mothers will live during the gestation period. The parts getting involved in the program, the surrogant parents and the gestational mothers, are both evaluated and have to comply with specific medical, psychological and social requirements, so that the part involved are controlled during the whole process to avoid bad practices and to ensure the best gestational result.\nThe Breeders residential complex will include private spaces and also communal areas where the mothers will develop new skills and stablish new relationships what will create the perfect atmosphere for this gestational process. The private areas, including bedrooms and bathrooms, have a simple methalic structure that creates the basic shelter where everything can happen. The flexible indoor space is customizable so each resident can express it personality and define their own retreat without restrictions. Collective areas, including dinning rooms, laundries, living rooms, leisure areas and swimming pools between others are essential for the mother physical and psycological development. This communal zones are separated from the private spaces so that noises and flows are carefully controlled. Also outdoors spaces are strictly planned stablishing a direct connection between interior spaces and exterior gardens and leasure areas. This outdoor spaces are flexible and host a huge variety of activities that complement the rest of the center programme. \nBut it is posible to control all this factors to create the perfect gestational period? Could architecture and design be the solution for this new future approaches?
