The site for “Tbilisi Park Hotel” is located in the originally German colony private gardens, than transformed to “Fantasy garden” in XIX century till pre revolution period, then Soviet era “Officers Summer Club “, later renamed to “Gorki Park”, after that Rose Garden, and now Elias Garden. Park itself is not private land and it belongs to city, For many years territory of 1000 sq.m of the total area, was abandoned ruins of the old building, unfortunately it was not decided to extend the park. Park was given to lesser company, who has taken responsibility for the maintenance of the park and in its further development for next 20 years. Sow the hotel was planned as the additional income, but at same time structure is planned as temporary building, which can be easily deconstructed for the park extension reasons.
New structure of hotel, stands on the place of old demolished brick structure and it’s forth in the row of existing buildings, build along the northern wall of park: Summer Theater, Jazz Club and small residential house, intervened in park boundaries. There are some other small buildings around, like cafe and plant shop. So many people are visiting park for deferent reasons. Building itself, horizontally developed long façade remains the wall, most important part of facade, facing the park is wooden framed Green screen, with climbing plants. Green screen structure creates a sort of privacy for hotel guest and at the same time for park visitors. .
The main structure in particular is made up of metal frame and stands on concrete base, Than dressed with horizontal wooden siding. Underground floor space is partly integrating old, brick wall fragments. Visible from nearby buildings, 500 sq. meters of green roof is planted with sedum carpet.
