Concept of park focuses on searching and emphasizing similarities between human and wild nature in landscapes. The idea to create a park is based on the phenomenon of natural succession what is rebirth of nature in the postindustrial area. Its aim is to develop a model of harmonious coexistence of human and nature.
First assumption of concept is that the area should mainly remain as it is because of its nature value. The second one relates to adaptation of land to people’s needs, at the same time drawing their attention to our impact on landscape. The most important elements of the project are platform, section, garden, wall and water flow. Form of platform is conditioned by ability to observe birds on the increased surface of two adjacent tanks. Its slope makes impossible to move further into the wild zone. Basic function of section is to show conflict of anthropogenic and nature generated layers of soil. By this way it’s possible to see power of nature. The garden is the only one place where soil needs to be cleaned and plants should be removed. Built as a circle and filled with ornamental plants makes contrast to surrounding lush and beautiful nature, which we can look at from inside the garden. This place needs to be cared, protected from drought, and self-seeded plants. The concrete wall is a carte blanche for notations of the water tank drying process, showing us the effects of man's actions. It is also a physical barrier preventing entry into the wild places. Next element is the water flow, which main purpose is to establish an entry limit into the wild zone and to pay attention to water as a testimony to the former water system. Furthermore, in the Sugar Park, the old water system of Struga Gnie?nie?ska river is rebuild and the area is open for smooth ride through the location of pedestrian and bike path adjoining to old path. In this way we can easily see how fast wild nature can hide elements made by humanThere is also an exercises field where everybody can hide themselves in high grasses, and a place to enjoy skateboarding. All design ideas have a task of defining relation between wild nature and human beings, contrasting them or emphasizing. Sugar park is an expression of the idea of symbiosis of people, animals and plants in the same place.
