There is one very important thing in the education of a student - the environment. In this project, I have tried to create it as I think she should be - inspiring.
The property is located in Sofia. The development property is an amalgamation of four properties. The buildings are located on the periphery of the property, close to the main communication arteries, providing a larger free yard space. Parking is provided through three levels of underground parking. The property is bordered by three streets. The topography of the terrain has a height difference of 7 m. The buildings are planned to be monolithic, with beamless construction, supporting columns and a main foundation slab. The project envisages a group of volumes, 5 above ground levels and 3 underground levels. Each of the buildings is situated at a greater distance, forming comfortable inter-block spaces. The construction of the buildings consists of four volumes connected to each other with a warm connection at +4.20m elevation. The volumes form a structure forming an enclosed space that fulfills the function of a courtyard. Functionally, the buildings are divided into public and residential parts. Structurally, this division of functions is expressed through their vertical spatial separation - the public functions are located at the basement level - elevation - 3.60m and ground floor level - elevation ±0.00 and elevation +4.20m., and the residential part is located on the next three floors. The design solution is entirely based on the sustainable architecture. Systems for the reuse and collection of rainwater are integrated. For additional energy efficiency, the tall tree vegetation has been increased, which provides the necessary shading of the terrain and the buildings. In conclusion, I would like to say that this project was a challenge for me. The leading motive in the creation of the project was to build a complete urban-architectural ensemble. My idea is that the green space will be combined with comfort and places for students to study .I think we need more places like this at universities which bring people together, work and interact with each other in a pleasant environment. The topic of student accommodation has always excited me and I think this was a suitable time to give my idea for this.
