The intervention of urban regeneration aims to maximize the organized outdoor spaces of a degraded area. The building is in two parts, a massive taking over the city established credit history, and a dynamic that develops by creating squares and paths, and it hosts various activities such as a school, an auditorium, a museum and accommodation facilities.
The project aims to bridge the urban voids that have been left by the bombing of Rome July 19, 1943. It aims to organize a popular area of the city that has experienced a profound transformation over the years. This area doesn’t have the cultural services that respond adequately to the needs of those who live the neighborhood (now the majority are students). The project aims to achieve a true urban regeneration going to operate within one of the lots with greater degradation place and that is in a strategic location as it is located at the southern entrance of the San Lorenzo district. The project includes a first part that recalls the historic city, presenting a static and massive aspect and a an upper part, that is dynamic and contemporary, that communicates with the ring road, an important infrastructure that characterizes the neighborhood. The materials used are mainly concrete and aluminum brise-soleil panels. The project maximizes usable outdoor spaces aiming to organize the outer space, that is complex and dynamic.
