A modest form and location at the intersection of mountain trails in the place of the existing building, adequate to the character of the musuem and the spatial situation of Zakopane - the winter capital of Poland - visited by tourists.
Interest in skiing and its history is becoming more and more popular among tourists and local residents, collections of exhibits are wasted in the magazines of the Tatra Museum and private owners, so it is reasonable to create such a place. The designed building is a ski museum intended for displaying such equipment as antique skis, poles, toboggans, seals and photographs and posters about skiing and mountaineering. The design of the ski museum is a protest against what is happening now with local architecture in Zakopane. Regionalism mixed with kitsch, bad proportions of traditional architectural elements and "Local Gaudi". These are just some of the elements that obscure what's true in "our" architecture. People have forgotten what local style is and what a real highlander cottage looks like. Cutting off in a certain sense from the regional style is due to the fact that skiing was not associated with highlander culture, and the first skiers slept in simple wooden huts covered with boards. The form of the building also results from the adaptation to the landscape and style in which the entrances of the Tatra National Park will be made. In designing, the author of the work adheres to similar principles that were followed by Adolf Loos. He believes that the form should result from culture. Culture is the key to good projects. You also need to remember who you are. Loos was against painting's treatment of architecture. The impact of his projects was based on good proportions. In project, the author also tried to read the identity and context of the place, use local materials and use proportions such as in the hut or highlander house. In Podhale all that Loos wrote about happened. "False prophets have appeared with their truths" who have forgotten where they are from. "They came from this horror and grow to infinity" The project is a riposte for the current situation in the architectural sphere of Podhale. A simple shape, refer to the shape of shacks, made of local materials. It was a contemporary form that refers to tradition but does not imitate the regional style in a direct way.The object is easy to implement.
