To build a house as a monument, as a vertical stage which dissolves the limits between the House and the square. To evoke the ambiance of the writer's room. The House is a room and a room is the House. One room with countless purposes, the ‘’city lodge’’ of the present.
The challenge of designing within existing historical site has always been a delicate subject. To respect the old and create something contextual and harmonic, but still up-to-date. The cities around the world are ageing, as well as the architecture of which they are created, therefore I believe that it is important for architects to be aware of it. To implement in the dense and determined urban structure of the old town, we are obliged to examine its history and foresee its future, and that's what makes the architect's job both difficult and honorable.
