The content of the thesis is a design for the reuse of the Discoland Sylvie on the Roman Catholic church of St. Veronica.
I design the Roman Catholic Church of Veronica with a baptistery for full dive. The design is based on Domus ecclesiae. These are the first Christian buildings of worship, where Roman atrium houses became churches. Their foundations can be seen, for example, under the capitular churches in Rome, which often bear the name of the owner of the original house. The impluvium (a rectangular rainwater tank located in the atrium) took over the function of the baptistery. The upper room became the place of worship. I'm leaving the whole house purely for church functions. In the rest of the plot I am creating meeting places and a paradise courtyard. An important part of the process was to survey and photograph the building early on so the design process could take place at a scale of 1:25 in plans and sections. The light was then verified in a 1:40 model of the house.
