Residential Building RZ 2

The building is located in a dense neighborhood near the city center. Most of the existing urban structures and developments in the nearby context are a mix between two-story single-family houses and five-story old residential buildings. Situated on a narrow plot, the building has an open east-west orientation with neighboring buildings attached on the northern and southern side.

The development resembles a five story residential building, counting twelve housing units, one commercial space and a twostory parking garage accessible via car elevator. The architectural concept of the building rests on the aspiration to create a residing space where each of the main living areas is provided with natural light and has an open view. In addition, one important request was adding greenery on the balconies, in order to create a natural ambient in a densely populated area. Considering the urban regulations of the Municipality, the main façade follows a ZigZag line while forming clean geometrical shapes and elements.

The main structure of the building is poured in reinforced concrete, wrapped by a thermo-isolated façade made from EPS and a finishing layer of facade plaster combined with HPL panels. The roof has a finishing layer of plastic coated aluminum, while the fencing is made out of transparent tempered glass, allowing sunlight to reach deep into the building. RZ, recognized by its physical proportions and distinctive design, resembles a residential building that brings a new architectural look to the city of Skopje.
