RBK House, located in Sojaklari near Veles, sits atop a 6,900 m² linear plot surrounded by open fields. The single-level home unfolds horizontally, housing open living spaces, private rooms, and an integrated “tunnel” garage. Its minimalist form, generous glazing, and warm wooden cladding establish a serene dialogue between architecture and the rural landscape.
The main challenge was how to create a contemporary residence within a vast, flat rural site without disrupting its calm openness. The client sought privacy, simplicity, and strong connection to nature. The strategy was to design a low, elongated volume that follows the site’s linear geometry, using natural materials and open transparency to integrate with the landscape. The “tunnel” garage and clear spatial zoning provided both functional clarity and visual depth, ensuring comfort, intimacy, and an ever-present sense of the surrounding fields.
RBK House uses a mixed concrete and steel structure for long spans and durability. Facades feature natural wood, glass, and exposed concrete for warmth and minimal upkeep. Energy efficiency is achieved through insulation and passive ventilation. Sustainable, locally sourced materials reduce cost and footprint. Maintenance includes periodic wood treatment and glazing checks.
