Primary School & Sportsclub Bad Blumau

The school and the sportsclub, both designed with empathy for the users, form a new communal center, which fits well into the local context. The school impresses with its courage for spatial solutions, in which children are taken serious. Actual pedagogic concepts are supported by exciting inner and outer qualities. Unconventional details/materials are offered, playful surfaces, unexpected openings and childappropriate sojourn niches. An outdoor area enlarges each classroom. At the communitymeadow all ages can meet as well as in the foyer and living zone. The spatial pattern fullfills the requirements for new schoolrooms exemplarily: intensive lessons in the mainclass and free learning in the generous community areas are possible. Outstanding in architecture and engagement of all the involved, this largely open, flexibly usable landscape for learning really follows the citation of the room as third educator.
