This thesis explores urban development along Banten’s railway corridor, focusing on the Coastal Connection. Addressing regional disparities, it leverages railway infrastructure for inclusive, diverse, and resilient growth. This strategic area envisions transforming the railway corridor into a model of sustainable development, linking inland innovation with coastal resources with integrating it with intermodal transportation hubs and Establish agribusiness initiatives focusing on sustainable agriculture and food processing to boost economic resilience.
Pagelaran Sub-District in Banten plays a crucial role in agricultural production. However, despite its significance, the region struggles with low economic growth and persistent poverty, primarily due to inadequate infrastructure that hampers agricultural efficiency, market access, and regional connectivity. The master plan site is strategically positioned along the main street which connects north-south access, with the Bama River dividing it into two sections. The surrounding area, within a 3 km radius, consists of extensive rice paddies and community farmlands, reinforcing its potential for agricultural advancement and economic prospects for agribusiness expansion. The proposed master plan incorporates several key components designed to stimulate regional economic growth. A research center will be established to develop high-quality crop varieties, enhancing agricultural productivity. An education and residential cluster near local settlements will support workforce development and improve the quality of life. Additionally, a central market and business cluster will promote agro-processing industries, fostering value-added food production and efficient distribution channels. In addition, new railway stations will be placed inside the development area to improve logistics, food distribution, and agribusiness networks. Also, proposing a new entrance-exit toll road at 2 km from the site. This development is expected to attract investment, boost tourism, and strengthen the agricultural sector, ultimately positioning Pagelaran as a model for sustainable economic and agricultural growth.
