Pôle Muséal Lausanne is an initiative that puts together three of the most relevant cultural institutions in the Swiss city. Two competitions defining the diverse programs were launched in 2011 and 2015. This project follows the second part of this process.
The Barcelona-based Estudio Barozzi-Veiga EBV was awarded in 2011 with the first prize for the competition dealing with the design of the largest of the three museums, MCB-A among other programs. Their proposal had also a big roll defining the remaining space and it's urban use.\nLast year the second part of this competition, dealing with the design of the two remaining institutions, was launched. \nThe project here presented follows the calendar and process almost at parallel, and is a chance to deal with a real program and to develop architectural scenarios at the same time as some of the most relevant practices world-wide. At the same time it is an opportunity to study further the work of a practice I followed and a chance to develop a strong thesis about an urban space and a cultural hub inside a well known environment.
