The building is located in an industrial zone southeast of the Municipality of Petrovec, in the village of R’žanichino. It is positioned between the regional road P-105 (R’žanichino – Konjare) and the newly designed Street "5", which runs parallel to the regional road and functions as a new service road within the industrial zone. The genesis of the architectural concept emerges from the synergy between the site's topography, its surrounding context, and a multifunctional program designed to accommodate diverse user groups simultaneously.
The building adopts a pavilion-like layout on a plot characterized by a steep slope descending from northeast to southwest. It is bordered by low vegetation to the southeast, industrial buildings to the northeast and southwest, and small-scale residential structures to the northwest. The multifunctional spatial program and usage requirements posed a challenge: to develop a spatial model that ensures cohesion between various functions and user groups within a unified architectural system. The result is a simple, refined spatial structure that integrates seamlessly into its context, defining dynamic spaces enriched with spatial quality. The design comprises pavilion-type structures with rectangular footprints—four solid prisms positioned parallel along the longitudinal edges of the site, accommodating industrial functions within a single construction level. These include gallery spaces and are intersected by a perforated prism that introduces vegetation and atriums into the interior, enabling visual connectivity. This volume houses the administrative program, elevated above the solid prisms, forming a large passageway that creates a gateway character to the industrial complex.
The spatial model is defined by a bipartite material division along the horizontal axis. At the base is a solid plinth composed of facade panels, creating a massive, enclosed volume suitable for the ground-floor and mezzanine programs, including storage and a workshop for gas pipeline maintenance. Above this massing sits a fully transparent, perforated prism with large glazed surfaces that bring the richness of the surrounding natural and built context into the interior of the administrative block.
