The main purpose of the project is to develope architectural conception of existing racing track "Tor Poznan" area. Site was improved by adding new functions contained in soft, winding and futuristic forms. Standards of existing infrastructure were rised and integraded with new objects.
Project is the expansion of existing racing track area in Poznan. Nowadays it is considered to be a low quality place, although many people come here to race or watch events. Problem of the project it to upgrade the site by designing new buildings, infrastructure, refurbishing existing objects and adding new functions. To propose site plan and forms of architecture, many analysis of modern sport cars and automotive industry were conducted. Pioneers of combining petrol and electrical engines in one car were deeply scanned – McLaren P1, Porshe 918 and Ferrari LaFerrari. It’s aerodynamic shapes had a big influence on architecture lines. Adjusting buildings to existing racing track and trying to connect it with cars shapes gave a unique and futuristic forms. Buildings seem to movie in a dynamic way. This effect emphasises the character of motorsports. Functions were located in different buildings around the complex. Main building with tribunes, restaurants etc. was designed to ensure best view of the track to spectators. It’s facades and roofs were enriched with green terraces and recreation equipment. Second building is a place for hotel and additional tribune. In the center of main area stands communication centre. It is a place from where spectators can take a ride in glass capsules ( mean of transport around the whole complex). Transportation takes place on a special magnetic rails. Project also uses green technology in many ways. For example facades are covered with panels which can open ( just like flaps on modern sport cars body) and reveal solar systems. Designed complex can become one of the most important place on Poznan map. Having that high quality facility can result in having a chance to organize F1 races or other prestigious events.
