Information overload and addiction to devices that allow us to have constant access to information are pressing problems of modern society. The goal of the revitalization of the thermal-brine pools in Ciechocinek is to bring the dead modernistic object back to life, but in response to contemporary problems of the society.
When walking through the cloakroom building, you have the impression that you are crossing a certain line, entering another world, a secret garden. The historical path of impressions and the historic building is preserved. Passing through the clearance in the wall, we enter the open landscape. \r\nThe space behind the gate is a place to stimulate the senses and detach from everyday reality. The user, passing through a series of multi-sensory spaces, experiences numerous sensations such as brine baths, inhalations, drinking mineral water, resting in a salt cave or on a deckchair. \r\nThe new baths building is a maze of different experience spaces. It begins from the terraces of the cloakroom, through a series of gradually rising walls, it transforms into a building covered with a roof. The combination of walls allows you to separate spaces with different functions, while maintaining openness and fluidity of communication at the same time. Walls made mainly of rammed earth (which stops cell phone signal), wooden structures filled with salt or a graduation tower, separate dry from wet, open and closed spaces and help to accumulate water vapor. The building is shaped so that the user has constant contact with the outside. Large glazing, viewing corridors and skylights open up to the surrounding landscape, and generate spaces with different intensity of the light. Light becomes a sensual impression.\r\nThe buildings are surrounded by the fresh air park. The sports trail runs along the perimeter of the park along the graduation towers where the condensation of healing aerosol is the biggest. It is divided into two lanes, one for runners and walkers and one for cyclists and small vehicles. Along the path, there are activity points that anyone can use. A complex of sports fields, outdoor gyms, playgrounds etc. Tall vegetation with the preserved old tree stand of the park, supplemented with new specimens, forms a dense border and separates the sports zone from the central zone of the park.
