This is a lowbudget building. It called for a very plain scheme for the general layout with façades generally made of prefabricated concrete elements, but designed with great attention to the most visible parts. It houses a senior high school with technical education as well as a library and an auditorium serving the entire community. It is located on the edge of the centre of the small town of Kungälv, north of Gothenburg. Vertical and horizontal lamellas work as sunscreens and give the building a graphic pattern, endowing it with a distinct character towards the city, while birch panelling gives the interior a warm and sensitive atmosphere. Accessibility for the disabled has been another prime concern, especially in the theatre.
