The architecture is a record of history in the landscape. It acts like a chronicle in which layers of relicts are sources of information about the past. Creating structure helps to decode a memory of the landscape and allow fully understanding a cultural heritage
Chosen location for the project is a village in western Poland S?dowel. The first settlement of this area is dated the late Iron Age. Footprints of the human are visible thanks to the pre-excavation research. The structure is built up with a development of archaeological works. The accommodation base for archaeologists arises in the first stage. Afterwards specialist workshops and classrooms are added to the building. In the next step, when excavations become advanced, there is created a main exhibitions space. At last the circle is closed with the restaurant and hostel. The structure reflects time processes in this area. So the building undergoes everlasting changes and the decay. The site is available for visitors through the whole process of explanations. And when it is completed, reconstructions take place of excavations. The Archaeological Park is one big display in which people can learn history in empirical way. The architecture is a narrator of our past present and future. It helps us to remember, pay attention and expect. And only if we want we can make use of it.
