The architectural solution descends under the level of Fond’s gardens, preserving the green belt and releasing a large public space. The suspended architecture is filled with innovative cultural and educational programme which offers creative enthusiasts of all ages a wide variety of opportunities for creativity.
The main reason behind this project is quite personal. I stemmed from my own needs and interest in arts. The easiest way to explain my decision is to say a few words about myself. I have always been passionate about art – from music to visual arts in general. In my spare time I used to paint, create jewelry or figurines, sing and dance. After grammar school I had to decide which of the hobbies would transcend into my professional career – the decision was difficult because I did not want to limit any of my interests. I decided to study architecture, because it seemed most useful in many design areas. Having completed the study of architecture, I am now becoming a part of Slovenian architectural reality with scarce employment opportunities. Students of architecture like me – engaged in graphic, industrial and fashion design, music, etc. – are therefore looking for different ways to earn their income. In addition to the satisfaction provided by the hobbies, they also represent a great career opportunity. Therefore I asked myself: what would be helpful in raising the level of creative hobbies? In order to create jewelry from precious metals, one would need a lot of special equipment; producing music requires a recording studio, whereas a wood shop is needed to manufacture a unique piece of furniture. The answer was obvious: we need a center with various professionally equipped workshops, where one could experiment – alone or under the supervision of an experienced craftsman – to produce prototypes of furniture and jewelry or record audio clips; a center that provides materials and tools and enables any creative person to come in interaction with various artists and the processes that help in realization of ideas, provide pure satisfaction and lead to potential earnings.
