Istanbul Thermal Bath 3

This project is a thermal facility and urban recreation area design. The project is located in the Tuzla-Içmeler region in Istanbul. There is hot spring water in this region. The project is located in a large area where the fountain from which this spring water comes out. The design is shaped accordingly.

Firstly, field analysis was made. What is remarkable during this analysis are the source and the density of the trees. According to these two main factors, the area and the axes where the building will be located were determined. Due to the fact that this project is related to the thermal facility, it was wanted to be in touch with nature and provide a peaceful area while designing. Therefore, attention was paid to the protection of trees in the area. Thus, the resulting structure has an organic form that is in harmony with nature and shaped with nature. Instead of shaping the perimeter of the building, it was shaped according to its perimeter. This organic structure is curved according to the location of the trees in the region and in some areas includes the trees. After examining the relationship of the area with its environment, arrangements were made regarding the transportation axes. The vehicle road passing through the middle of the field has been removed. In order to establish a relationship with the third protected area in the north of the area, it was considered to use this area as a pedestrian axis of the city park and the vehicle road between them. While settling in the area, existing tree texture, topography and natural axes in the area were taken as reference. The area has been made more permeable in order to establish a better relationship with the environment of the area. And axes are given to the area from the determined focal points. It was aimed to establish a relationship with big and small hotels in the area. Therefore, entrance to the building from the part of the hotels is given. The environment of source was designed as a recreation area and the Source was made more accessible to the public. Therefore, public spaces were placed around the Source. Thermal areas and accommodation are placed in the dense area of ??the trees located in the upper part of the area.
