I have done several fancy houses turing my studies. In those two projects I had to make qualities with minimum budget. Most important characteristics was rationality.
In June 2015, Estonia where given 152 quota refugees by EU. It started big debate in society. Also the number of asylum seekers has risen in last years. I saw that in those problems, there are some aspects about space and I always have had interests in politics.\nFirst I wanted to do big centre where new comers live and adapt with the society and learn language, culture and find jobs. After analyses I understood that this problem can not be solved with one house. We never know how many of them will be coming. The situation was changing in every day and I had to make adaptive system. If the situation in Syria normalises, then what will happen with this centre? I made centre and living separately from each other. If there are more of them, then we can just build new apartments.??I made asylum centre + community centre + integration space inside old industrial building, because the program did not need special rooms and this building was in tolerant and dense city environment. Also I could not make something new for them, because then it would be easy to label the house by society.\nFor living space I had to make something new, because Estonia does not have a fond of social apartments. But we have a plan to make state rental apartment system and I joined this plan with mine. Apartments are for locals and refugees will live between them. Flat whats suitable for local culture can adapted for islam culture with just adding curtain to divide women and man space. If the situation in refugee home country will normalise, then you can remove the curtain and it is suitable for locals.
