The Innovation Center is located in the most technologically advanced campus in the Balkans. It is elevated to create new working spaces, provides shade for the students, is constructed with minimal environmental impact and can be easily dismantled if needed. It ventilates itself without energy-powered appliances and reflects summer sunrays.
The UBT College campus has become a self-sufficient smart city with advanced technology and facilities. To set an example for other cities in Kosovo, an innovation center was needed, but space was limited. The solution was to construct a building between existing laboratories without disrupting their cooperation. The building accommodates 50 students in two floors, with a small central core containing stairs and two elevators. The building is designed for easy dismantling and reuse of materials, with a care for the environment. The building is wrapped on three sides with glass to motivate students, with Brise soleil installed to regulate temperature. The building has roof windows for ventilation and smoke removal in case of fire. The floors are organized to maximize natural light, with offices of different sizes and ability to merge if needed. Recreational spaces, printers, meeting rooms, and a kitchen are available on each floor, with a terrace on the third floor for social gatherings. The innovation hub is a symbol of energy efficiency, environment protection, and hope for young graduates to positively impact the world.
