The project rethinks the balance between the individual and collective in times of rapid urbanization, technological progress, and sustainable development chasing. To it the Rhodopean life owes its uniqueness, tranquility, freedom, and authenticity. It is an approach for reestablishing the strong human-nature-local traditions connection.
At the urban planning level, the balance between the individual and the collective" is manifested by a clear separation of a residential sector in the southern part of the property and a public sector in the northern one. The accommodation units are three types of villas and a glamping area. They are arranged in parallel rows and each unit has a view towards the dam. The public area consists of reception pavilion, shop and medical office, restaurant, SPA & Wellness center, pool bar, floating platform. They are organized around a main pedestrian axis starting at the property's main entrance and ending at a floating platform in the dam. In addition, "landscape thematic spaces" - references to real natural landmarks - have been introduced.\nAt the architectural volumetric level, two types of volumes are introduced - "solid" and "transparent". Their presence allows a logical distribution of the program. The "solid" volumes take the individual part of the program and the “transparent volumes” take the collective part of the program. The two types of volumes provide good opportunities for the fifth facade of the holiday village. The "solid" volumes have a flat green roof, and the "transparent" volumes have a stone pitched roof. The combination of pitched and flat roofs creates a specific image, an interpretation of traditional Rhodopean architecture.\nAt the interior environment level, elements of the interior environment typical of the traditional Rhodope architecture are applied in a modified version.\nThe proposed construction is inspired by local building traditions - wooden structures, dry processes, stone masonry. The details are simple and minimal, with clean lines.
