The RCC building is part of a broader process of revitalizing post-industrial public space known as the Factory Full of Life. The building is situated in the very heart of this urban forum for social, cultural, and business events subtly complementig it. It's scale and form harmonizing with the post-industrial landscape. At the same time, its façade and distinctive geometry enter into a dialogue with the historical factory architecture, making the structure a symbol of the site’s new identity—one of openness, collaboration, and innovation - a metaphor for the role of the Chamber of Commerce.
The Head Office of the Region Chamber of Commerce has become one of the elements of the vibrant Factory Full of Life - the open, post-industrial public space which is a kind of center of the city, where life is vibrant. The railroad station and the Palace of Zaglebie Culture are located within its area, and recreation, food and beverage are placed there. The RCC facility complements this space, being the background for the many events present there. Sometimes it also becomes their center thanks to the possibility of holding exhibitions, presentations and lectures there. The very characteristic environment that is the Full Life Factory makes the numerous events that take place there and the people who stay there become the most important element of this space. Hence the idea of using polished sheet metal on the façade, which makes the building abstractly blend in with the surroundings and reflect what is happening around becoming part of it.
The idea for the form of the building came from using industrial containers from which it was initially to be made in order to fit into the post-industrial surroundings. The design of the 9 repetitive modules allowed for the use of a systemic, steel structure. The juxtaposition of their "threes" refers to the abbreviation and logo of RCC. By shifting one of the 'threes' with respect to the front elevation, an arcade was created on the ground floor, in a natural way emphasizing the main entrance to the building and the multifunctional rooms. At the same time, a terrace was created on the first floor, creating a pre-entry zone to the office part designed there. The facility, due to its temporary nature, is not permanently attached to the ground, which gives the potential possibility to transport it to any other place and reuse it completely. The open spaces of the multifunctional halls and offices give the possibility to adapt them also for other functions depending on future needs.
