Future Housing

This project aims to secure affordable housing based on expected demographic changes, family structure, and demands of the future; which include mobility and adaptability wherever you want to live. Intending to be material and cost-efficient, this project provides easier access and control over our own houses.

Four walls form a space, but memories form a home. This diploma thesis is rather challenging because it is required a solution to the function of housing in the near future, with a vision based on permanent technological developments. Based on the research is generated a trajectory of the development of housing till today, and this track has based the solution for the near future, which, it continues to develop in these enormous rhythms, is expected to be very surprising. We no longer possess our dwellings. Instead, we make 100% use of them. In this way, the carbon footprints we leave on our planet get reduced. Our dwelling contribution to nature is positive now. By using recyclable materials, there is no expiration date for our houses. It can last for a hundred years and then be dissolved in nature. The material used for the construction (grid that holds units) is cross-timber wood, considered as the material of the future. Whereas, each unit is built with light-weight composite walls that are resistant to earthquakes and other natural disasters. If we consider consumerism as the biggest problem the world is facing today, then the primary solution to it is having less and using everything at a minimum. With a focus on the economic housing of the future, this project sets some problems with logical solutions that rationalize the user’s life. Nowadays, people want to live in different places throughout the years, that’s why here comes the question of how that particular building, house, or the apartment is built and takes place. The idea of creating sustainability in all disciplines is the biggest achievement of the 4th industrial revolution happening these days, which was a profound thought in this project as well. Also, the design of 24 units with different A x B dimensions, is carefully designed to adapt to every location and situation. Units are formed by prefabricated elements that create the possibility for fast fix and mobility from one site to another. They are formed in the concept of Metabolism architecture, which provides the functioning of a building as a living organism.
