Do all the memories and moments of the city have to disappear for the reason that we don’t need to? It is sad that time has always been recorded based on the accounts of winners and those in power. This design is about the completion by gathering abandoned memories, vanished places and unnoticed parts in order to hold someone's memories and times of their life.
I decided to look into the stuff which goes unnoticed to the common eye. In order words, I have tried to pay attention to worthless things, such as a piece of used volt on the street, in order to make it in a better way. Identity need to be considered in the context of relationships between me and the environment, the past and the present. Someone’s memory becomes in itself impression of the city, and cultural identity of the city, which called ‘locality’, consists of these impressions. Therefore, ‘locality’, that is made through reconstitution of these memories, is not just to exist but to be formed by context of surrounding environment, city, memories, history, forms and materials, connection between us. I’d like to reconstruct the traces of memories that scattered in the city into shape, material, history, and environment in order that architecture could be considered continuous process as an unending dialog between the past and the present.\nForm: Horizontal and vertical, linear wall The linear wall is formed as abstract and geometrical shape. Like a mass of scrap metal, it was stuck in the ground. Unfamiliar scale, that gives a strong impression to visitors, is reminds us of the large vessel. And it is full of oppositions and contrasts such as horizontal wall and vertical sea.\nMaterial, Texture: Materials can be transformed in multiple ways to obtain certain atmospherics in architecture and spaces with texture, colour, temperature and tone. Collecting scattered pieces of the site, Create a collage of images and traces from the memory such as the broken walls, wooden mold, casting, shipyard, rusted gear, Water mark, sounds…\nModern Cultural Heritage: The Warehouse during Japanese Occupation has survived the ravages of time. It’s in conflict with linear wall, while an underground pedestrian walkway connects the ware house to linear park.\nNature: I tried to create beauty through relationships between architecture and nature. It is important to bring nature into architecture. When light passes through these small holes, it divides into colors like the glow of a firefly.
