The high density in our cities, together with the fast evolution of the workspaces as well as the tecnhology development which allow to work from any point worldwide, encourage this research about new workspaces far from the congested cities centre and closer to the real natural environment.
The sustainability and carbon footprint control are the main factor for the conceptual and tecnhical development of the proposal. The proposed structure is flexible and reversible, being able to embrace multiple uses in the future and adapt to the unpredigtable users necesities. The inhabit podium. The building is organized by the central core, ‘la calle’, which is a semi-open space designed to encourage the relationships between different users and is the foyer for domestic areas and workspaces. In addition, ´la calle´ is the space which relate the proposal with the existing buildings. At the same time, in terms of passive strategies, “la calle” is the main thermal regulator of the building, adaptable to the different seasons with a movable facade system. The workspaces are organized around a courtyard sequence, opening the entire building to the nature and melting it limits with the surrounding area. Those spaces are flexible and can be adapted to different configurations, from a group of freelancers to a medium size company in the same area, even the entire building can works as an unique space for one big company. The housings are independent volumes which levitate above the main podium, enjoying amazing views of the city. The small volumes establish relations with the scale of the existing buildings and, simultaneously, create the urban facade of the complex, visible on top of the trees. The pursuit of a new contemporary workspace where the domestic life and the working experience could cohabit, become the theoretical framework of the proposal.
