“My response is a humble expression dictated by the memory of the architectonic past of its surroundings, which answers to the necessities of the present time, taking into account the ever-changing and constant evolution of the future. COLERE from Latin: To cultivate, to inhabit.”

My proposed answer establishes 5 clear objectives to accomplish: -Low impact on its surroundings. The past failed urban interventions and the proximity to a large city such as Aranjuez, makes this location behaves like a satellite which asks for a fast prefab and modular constructive method. Build and unbuild quickly. -A symbol. To make the location stand out and benefit itself and its surroundings. To achieve this, one of the main focusing points of the project is to create the designation of origin of Aranjuez, turning the Real Cortijo de San Isidro into the main supplier and cultivator of vernacular products such as strawberries and asparagus, fed with the water collected through the very own architecture. Cultivate, grow and turn water into a protagonist. -The inclusion of the inhabitants. The constructed modules have in this context a defined use, which brings the previous point into action through commerce and exposition by the very own people of the village, but thanks to the distinct modularity of the architecture its use is ever-changing and adaptable to the needs and necessities of its environment. Change, adapt and grow. -Protection of the landmarks. The few historic architectural pieces that have survived the passing of time have been unsuccessfully renovated and expanded. We proceed to protect and rehabilitate them and allow them to dictate the distribution and division of my project. The site decides the starting rules. -Creation of a coherent method of urbanizing. We achieve this through a geometric game in which the very architecture will dictate the course of growth and vegetative evolution. To achieve this, the pentagon, a fundamental element of the urban mesh and history of the village will be the protagonist of mine. Play, decide, build and construct.
