The main goal of the project is to create an alternative sightseeing route through the ruins, allowing for more comprehensive and safer exploration of this historic site. The existing paths have primarily covered the northern side of the walls and the areas north of the tower. The new solution proposes the introduction of additional pathways that will be seamlessly integrated into the surrounding landscape while minimizing the impact on the existing structure of the ruins.
A key element of the project is the passageway, which will be attached to the steepest part of the rock where the ruins are located. This solution will allow tourists and visitors to safely explore the site from new, previously inaccessible vantage points. The planned passageway will not only facilitate movement within the area but also enrich the visitor experience by offering new perspectives and breathtaking views. As the central feature of the structure, the passageway is designed as an open construction, without doors or other enclosures. Its irregular form enhances its character and aesthetic appeal, blending harmoniously with the rugged terrain. Functioning as a key communication element, it aims to provide a comfortable transition and ensure free movement throughout the ruins, making the site more accessible and engaging for visitors. The project will also incorporate a network of staircases and viewing platforms. These modern elements are designed to complement the historical essence of the ruins while introducing innovative features that significantly enhance the comfort of exploration. The staircases and platforms will improve access to various sections of the site and offer additional viewpoints, allowing visitors to admire the vast panoramas of Villeneuve from unique perspectives. Due to its open structure and mountainous setting, the building may also interact acoustically with natural atmospheric phenomena, such as the wind, creating a dynamic relationship between architecture and nature.
