Located on the edge of the Bandici plain near Danilovgrad, the project integrates a winery and service building within a 5-hectare agricultural estate. The design articulates the connection between the cultivated field and the natural elevation, shaping a harmonious rural composition rooted in the landscape through the expression of stone and brick.
The design interprets the transition between the flat Bjelopavlici plain and its small elevations, creating an architectural “coastline” where agricultural and built environments meet. All facilities are placed on the higher ground while the southern field remains cultivated. The layout follows the logic of traditional Montenegrin settlements, forming a sequence of enclosed and open spaces. The project establishes a balance between productive land, built form and local identity, providing functionality for wine production and a spatial experience that highlights the site’s natural qualities.
The winery is a two-storey volume set into the terrain with a green roof, including production, storage and tasting spaces. The service building consists of two gabled volumes for equipment, storage and workers’ facilities. Materials include natural stone and terracotta-coloured brick, reflecting local dry-stone techniques and the pigment of the surrounding soil. Large glass openings connect the interior with vineyards. The use of massive masonry, ventilated facades and green roofing ensures energy efficiency and easy maintenance while achieving a high level of integration with the landscape.
