The project is located both between the city and the port, and at the limit between the historical and the administrative center. Being located at the limit of so many area, it becomes a center that connects them.
At the only strictly pedestrian entrance the project location is the most accessible point of the urban-port threshold in terms of public transport. The site is located both between the city and the port, and at the limit between the historical and the administrative center. Being located at the limit of so many areas, it becomes a center that connects them. Keeping in mind everything I said, the building takes into account several aspects. It opens to the historical harbor with a plateau, with an angle that has as limits The Roman mosaic edifice (a city landmark) and the grain silos of Anghel Saligni (a port landmark). I kept the link between the bus station and the pedestrian bridge. I created a connection between the park and the port, using the axis of the statue of Victory (anti-fascist). I also created a new pedestrian route, linking the new interest point to the historical center and the rest of the routes in this area. Forwards I made a transition between the topography of the inclined terrain and the built-up area of the city-port threshold, creating a high point from which one can view both the harbor and the city. In the city of Constanta, more precisely in this peninsula area there are historical layers of burried cities (greek, roman, turkish) . I wanted my object to adopt this logic of the burried walls, so I created the feeling of a gate borderd by two fortifications in this space, using forced perspective to create a more dynamic perception. Each building head cracks and by carving them, I bring light into the building and create in each one a ''in between'' space. I wanted to create a cultural bridge between the city and the harbor, therefore my volume is home to a museum, a cultural center, a public debate hall for both city and port projects and a library. The structural concept is that of a reinforced concrete base on witch these volumes with metallic structure are layed.
