Architecture creates better places, affects society and plays an important role in providing and designing a place that betters the quality of human life, In the context of my designing project, it relates to creating a better environment for the administration of district “Mladost”, Varna, Bulgaria.
The site covers an area of 16 299 m² and its shape is almost triangular which predisposes the shape of the building. The analysis of the existing afforestation on the site determines an area in which to locate the building due to its geometry and the position of the trees. To preserve it, internal space is formed, with its microclimate, which becomes both the main entrance of the plenary hall and a place for relaxation and social contacts. The building consists of two volumes, which emphasize its function and principle of operation. In vertical it develops on three and four levels respectively. In the higher volume, which faced both boulevards, are functional groups that work with each other and have no direct connection and work with the citizens. In the lower volume hosts all functional groups that have a direct connection with the citizens. The facades are made of white concrete and the southeast facade is with a fiber-reinforced concrete curtain wall. The lower volume is entirely made of aluminum curtain wall, which gives passers-by a look at administrative functions. The high degree of transparency invites and the light that enters creates a pleasant working environment.HPL panels are used for the mass, which acts as a connecting element of the two volumes. They, on the one hand, create the necessary coziness, on the other, sharply differentiate the individual functions of the building. Seen from above, this space resembles the shape of capital on a column, which is also a symbol of power. The construction is mixed. The two main volumes have a steel-reinforced concrete structure, mainly beamless construction, and the “connecting” element, the so-called capital, has a steel construction.
