An experimental theatre for La Fura dels Baus combined with a fisher market. It is located at the old port of Barcelona. On one hand there is the experimental theater group and on the other hand the fisher-collective. The combination of them generates an interaction of opposites which is unique for Barcelona.
There was the specific assignment from our school. The task for our thesis was to develop a experimental theatre for La Fura dels Baus in Barcelona. The basic idea was to generate a place for La Fura dels Baus where they generate new ideas and performances. But also a house which can be used for performances to show the recent work. My personal goal was to combine the theatre with an other use of the house. To generate a place which is is used the whole day by La Fura dels Baus but also by public. I see the theatre as chance at this location to generate a mixed-use. In the end there is a benefit for the located fisher-community with a new home also to sell there fishes and seafood. It is a chance to to spread the fisher profession and to sensitive it in the public. The Combination of La Fura dels Baus with the fisher community generates an active and interesting place in the heart of the harbour.
