Rebuilding Church St. Martha

In the year 2014 burned down the 1385 consecrated Church St. Martha Kirche in Nuremberg for unexplained reasons. It was also lost the original historical roof truss over the Church interior. It was the construction task, to rebuild the Church in its formerly outer contour. The interior otherwise could be reshaped with contemporary constructions.

The project is situated in the Flemish Ardennes between Koppenberg and Kluisberg. On the site there is an existing villa from 1938 built in the style of New Objectivity. The garden is a vast plateau that abruptly ends in a cliff to the lower forest area. In order to accommodate his art collection, the owner wanted to extend the existing house.

The project is located on the outskirts of Split, in an area that has for at the least 20 years been in transition from agricultural suburbia to a ‘proper’ residential quarter. Due to a lack of public amenities and spaces in the nearby vicinity, the school is designed not just as a place of education, but also as a collective space for the entire neighbourhood.

Raging storms constantly shape the dunes on the northwest coast of Denmark. In 1968 a giant sand dune devoured Rubjerg Knude Ligthouse leaving the tower as the only remainder.
The lighthouse was reopened and retrofitted with an architectural installation giving the public a last chance to enjoy the dynamic spectacle of nature from the top of the tower.EUmies Awards Architecture & Emerging
